The short version

  • No cookies for visitors, and no advertising, tracking or analytics.
  • The website keeps three small notes in your browser.
  • The web app keeps your sign-in and settings in your browser, not in cookies.

What the website stores

  • No cookies. Browsing the site and joining the waitlist don't set any. The website keeps three small notes in your browser instead: which link brought you here (until you close the tab, so a creator gets credit if you join the waitlist), whether FIG is open to diners, and an offline copy of the pages.
  • FIG team only: signing in to the admin page sets secure, HttpOnly cookies: one keeps you signed in for 8 hours, one remembers that browser for 90 days, one counts wrong tries, and short-lived ones (10 minutes at most) hold a sign-in or set-up step.

What the web app keeps

When you use FIG in your browser, it keeps your sign-in and your settings (like your language) in this browser's own storage, so you stay signed in and it remembers them. They're not cookies and they don't track you anywhere else. Signing out removes your sign-in; clearing this site's data in your browser removes the rest.

Things loaded from other services

The map tiles come from OpenFreeMap and the map library from jsDelivr; the animation library is served from FIG's own site. They see a normal web request (like any website you visit) but we don't send them anything about you.
