The short version

  • One plan covers all your restaurants: $29.99 a month or $299.99 a year from the day FIG opens to diners, before tax (founding restaurants lock in less before launch). Your page, deals and scans are included, with no commission on the bill.
  • Takeout orders paid in the app: FIG keeps 5% of the food, and Stripe’s card fee comes off the same payment.
  • Honour your live deals exactly as written.
  • Only you, the staff you invite, or a diner scanning your counter code (when you switch it on) can verify a deal.

1. Who these terms are for

These terms apply to restaurants in Canada that use FIG Business. They sit alongside our Terms of service and Privacy policy. By signing up, you confirm you're 18 or older and can accept them for your business.

2. Your listing

You must run a real, licensed food business at the address you give us, and keep your details accurate. Setting up is free. Your page and deals go live when your plan does (a founding deposit before FIG opens to diners) and your page has at least one photo. We can pause or remove a listing that breaks these terms.

3. Your deals

You choose your deals, times and daily limits. While a deal is live, you must honour it exactly as listed. Don't raise prices to cancel out a discount. If you pause a deal, keep honouring claims made before that. Ending a deal is what stops its claims.

4. What FIG costs

One plan covers all your restaurants, now and later: their pages, going live, posting deals and verified scans, with no limit on locations. It's $29.99 a month or $299.99 a year from the day FIG opens to diners, before tax. Without a plan a restaurant can sign up and set up its listing; going live, deals, scanning and takeout need a plan. There's no commission on the bill, and no sign-up, listing or per-scan fees.

Founding plan, only before FIG opens to diners: $9.99 a month for your first 12 months, then $29.99 a month; or $59.99 for your first year, then $299.99 a year. Prices are before tax, plus HST once FIG is registered.

You pay a deposit when you sign up: $9.99 (monthly) or $59.99 (annual). It pays for your first month or first year, which starts on the day FIG opens to diners. FIG plans to open to diners on January 1, 2027, and will tell you the start date in writing at least 14 days ahead. FIG can't promise how many diners you'll get.

Refunds: within 14 days of your first payment, for any plan; founding deposits are also refunded in full if FIG hasn't opened to diners by March 1, 2027 (for a plan whose first period hasn't started). Nothing else is refundable, and your founding price stays locked in.

Your card is charged automatically after the first period until you cancel in FIG's Settings. Cancelling stops the renewal, and you keep full access until the end of the month or year you've paid.

Stripe processes the plan's payments. FIG never sees your card number.

Takeout orders paid in the app are paid out to you through Stripe. Setting up payouts happens inside FIG, and accepting Stripe’s terms (the Stripe Connected Account Agreement) is part of it. Your ID and bank details go straight to Stripe, never to FIG.

When a diner pays for a takeout order in the app, FIG keeps 5% of the food after the deal’s discount, before tax, and Stripe’s card fee (2.9% + $0.30 for most Canadian cards; cards from outside Canada cost more) comes off the same payment. The rest, tax included, is paid out to you, and the tax is yours to remit. A takeout order the diner pays for at your counter has no FIG fee.

If you refund an order, in full or in part, FIG gives back its fee in proportion. Stripe keeps its card fee.

FIG isn’t registered for HST yet. Once it is, it will add 13% HST to its plan and its 5% fee, and we’ll tell you at least 30 days before that starts.

Your plan includes everything FIG offers restaurants. If we ever offer a paid extra, we'll show the price and what's included before you buy anything.

5. Wrong scans and disputes

If you think a scan is wrong, message us within 14 days. We review it, and if it was a mistake we remove it.

6. Reviews

Paying FIG never changes, hides or removes reviews. You can reply to reviews in public. Don't offer anything in exchange for a review.

7. Staff

You're responsible for scans made by your team. Only owners and managers can refund takeout orders. Remove access when someone leaves.

8. Diner information

You'll see a diner's first name, last initial and the deal they used, never their mobile number or email. Reach a diner only through FIG (for example "We're waiting" on a takeout order), and only to serve that deal or order. Don't contact diners outside FIG, and handle their information as Canadian privacy law requires.

If a diner deletes their account, you keep your records of their orders and visits, shown as "Former diner".

9. Ending the agreement

You can close your business account anytime. Takeout orders already paid are paid out as usual. We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, for example by not honouring deals or faking scans. If we close it for any other reason, nothing more is charged.

Closing a location, or your business account, deletes that location's orders and visit records from FIG. Save your takeout statements first: you need them for your own tax records.

10. Responsibility

You're responsible for your food, prices, service and safety, and for any claims about them. FIG is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, our total liability is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the last 12 months or $100 CAD.

11. Changes and law

If we ever charge for something, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice first. These terms follow Ontario law, and disputes go to the courts of Ontario.
